We started a D2C platform where we used to sell master-copied articles of hit brands and companies. We used to deal in sneakers, tees, lifestyle wearables, and more. Our supply was from Haryana and Gujarat. There are so many markets with different prices that offer you a good buying price so that you can save a lot on margin at the first hand itself. It was simple. Pick a particular city, a particular road, or an area and run ads around that place. Collect all the leads and get done with customer choices. Ask them first to pay the full amount. (Yes, it's ok to ask them for the full payment first if you have confidence in your ethics and products.) Why did this fail? It failed because of the quality of the product and trust. Trust it or not, copied products of hit brands made by someone else without a concern for quality will always fail. Always. We did realise it late. We took the conscious decision of either giving an exchange on the same product or returning the money to customers. We closed this at a loss. It was a pretty good loss, but worth it.

We took it from 0 to 70k INR in average weekly sale in 1.5 months, that too in a tier 3 city of Bihar. We were shortlisted for an interview round at Y Combinator. It was tough but worth it because of the low margin in it.

I got to learn a lot as I was looking at the operations and sales part. It was high energy all the time, as we used to gather all kinds of vegetables in the morning from the farmers and make both Rashaan and Vegetables delivered to customers all day.

We got good reviews, and we served our customers well. We faced challenges in scalability, and slowly and slowly we took it down. It was a journey worth living.

Have you heard of Fampay? I tried building something the same as that, but the direction changed, and I ended up doing a very beautiful thing. So, me and my 3 friends wanted to cater to teenagers at the age of 19.YES, I can see your smile. We wanted teenagers to invest, budget, and then spend money wisely, so we thought of building 9teen, a platform for them where they can do such things. You might be thinking, who gave money to teenagers so that they can invest and budget? I get it! Will answer this some other day. So, finally, before beginning, we thought of doing some research on teenagers. We made a mini-course for all the schools in our city; we went there, and we made all the students understand the meaning of personal finance and money in general. We did this with stories, examples, skits, and much more. Trust me, we were enjoying this like anything. We kept on doing this for a quarter, and we kept on doing this; we left behind the idea of 9teen, and we kept on doing this more on social media, Instagram Live, and videos. It happened till I decided to pursue course on graphic design in Delhi. Slowly we took this down too! I will tell you guys more on this in the future; until then, keep on doing what you are enjoying.

Take it as an example: If you are preparing for a CA exam, you can directly get in touch with a qualified CA who can help you understand the way to tackle each and every problem that comes during the journey. For this, the CA will take a certain fee/hour, like, say, Rs. 5,000/hour. Similarly, suppose you are preparing for a technical course. You can pay 2k/hour to an expert for understanding how you can get the job after doing that course or what needs to be done next. Whatever you are doing, pay an hourly fee to an expert and get in touch with them. The idea was very simple: the public should have access to anyone, anytime, for anything they need to know or tell so that they could monetize their time and knowledge. 1:1 consultation to make money for everyone. This is a 3-year-old story. I took this idea and created a website and app but failed miserably as I was not able to onboard clients. I failed at timing the market. This idea now will be very attractive to so many people, but back then it was so underrated. I accept my mistake that I didn't continue it from then to now; I might have done something but failed. Surely going to try this in the future.
